THE BURNING BUSH: DIVINE MYSTERY AND HUMAN PSYCHE
Reading the Book of Exodus Part Two with Shoshana Jedwab — Tuesdays 8-9 pm ET / 5-6 pm PT, April 22, 29, May 6, 13, 27
Shoshana Jedwab has been teaching the Book of Exodus in its original language for thirty consecutive years. In this five-session course, we will closely read the initiation and resistance tale of the Burning Bush in Chapters 3 and 4 of the Book of Exodus along with classical, modern and ecofeminist commentaries. We will enter the world “beyond the wilderness” with Moses and his flock and encounter flora flourishing in fire. At the mountain of mystery, where the divine mystery and human psyche meet and miss, we will take away ancestral wisdom and wonders for our own healing. No knowledge of Hebrew or Biblical Studies needed.
The class will be taught via Zoom and can also be accessed via phone. All sessions will be recorded; you can take the class even if the time block does not work for you. For financial assistance or scholarship opportunities, please reach out to liviah@beitkohenet.org.
Cost: $200 + $25 non-refundable registration fee
Shoshana Jedwab
Shoshana Jedwab is an intuitive who feels gifted by uncanny experiences that have helped her to orient in this incarnation. Shoshana (Batshemesh) Jedwab served as founding faculty member and sacred drummer for the Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute where she facilitated powerful primal prayer, vibrant Torah service ritual translations, and taught Jewish sacred foolery, contemporary mystical experience, Jewish spiritual practices, and Jewish history. Shoshana Jedwab lives in the world as a percussionist, singer-songwriter, worship leader, prize-winning Jewish educator and the Jewish Life Coordinator at the A.J. Heschel Middle School. Shoshana Jedwab’s original, hip-shaking, prayer music grounds body and spirit, and brings the ancestral past into joyous contemporary practice. The original songs of Shoshana’s 2016 debut album, “I Remember,” and her 2018 anthem, “Where You Go,” emerged from ceremonies Shoshana was leading, and are now being sung, and danced to, in churches, synagogues, weddings and protest marches around the world. Shoshana Jedwab released her popular prayer singles, “Openings” in 2020, “Torah Orah” in 2022 and “Life Is Born” in 2023.
